Maggie's garden is large, with over 12 intersections of long sidewalks in all directions. Since the book's release, I've learned many family members and friends of my grandparents were unaware the garden existed. Why these sidewalks were poured behind Maggie's back yard is actually a mystery to our family. Did they serve a functional purpose for back yard gardening, or were they just for looks? A likely reason: my grandad owned a concrete company and often, leftover concrete from concrete trucks had to be disposed of. What would you like to think the story of the sidewalks is?
